Going There!

March, 2012 — United Arab Emirates / Oman
This will be our “couple’s trip” for 2012. We’re flying on Delta to Dubai (on a cheap 80k miles/pp. award ticket!). We’ll have a couple of days in Dubai (which we’ll use to drive to ensure a visit to all of the Emirates) before joining RCI’s Brilliance of the Seas for a 7-day cruise of the UAE / Oman. Per TCC guidelines, this will count for 8 countries — all seven of the Emirates (technically part of the UAE), plus Oman. It will also give us another continent: Asia.
We’re pretty excited about this one.
June, 2012 — London & Central Europe Family Trip
After my dust-up with Royal Caribbean, we’ll be combining our visit to London with a trip through Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Poland. That will be five new countries for us… and 11 for Emerson! After London, we’ll fly to Dusseldorf, Germany where we’ll rent a car. We’ll then proceed to drive in a sort of U-shape ending in Berlin about a week and a half later. Here’s a rough idea of what we have planned:
My mother will be joining Emerson, Libby, and me on this trip.
November, 2012 — Thanksgiving Cruise?
No plans yet. But, we’re thinking about NCL Dawn out of Tampa to Central America / Mexico.
March, 2013 — Australia? Asia?
We’d been leaning towards getting in the final continent for us. But, I’m less certain now. Stay tuned…
