So, I’ve always known that airplane cabins are pressurized to an altitude well above sea level. As a practical matter, one usually goes merrily (or not) along without noticing any physical effects. Well, we’re off to London today. Just boarded the plane from Tampa to NY-JFK.
We’ll be spending a little less than a week at Allen House. Then, we’re off to Oslo for a cruise of Scandinavia and Russia. We’ll end with a few days in Stockholm before heading back to the UK to fly home. [...]

After a bit of check-in trouble (I forgot Emerson’s infant surcharge paper ticket… had to buy another one: $158.60 idiot tax paid), we had an uneventful journey through security and boarded the plane on time. Emerson fell asleep before takeoff and slept until almost landing. How delightfully uneventful!

Ironically, my coach seat was broken. It wouldn’t recline. So, they gave us the “operational upgrade” to BusinessElite.
